Threat Intelligence and Response Manager

Job Purpose

The Threat Intelligence and Response Manager is responsible for identifying and analysing security threats and vulnerabilities in a large and complex environment.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain awareness of the global cyber threat landscape
  • Identify stakeholder intelligence needs and requirements and help develop the most effective methods for fulfilling these unique requirements
  • Leverage commercial and open-source information collection tools to conduct research that aids in identification and analysis efforts
  • Understand threat actors, their ideologies, capability, intent, and tactics, techniques, & procedures (TTPs)
  • Collaborate across multiple organisations to develop a broad view of the threats to all An Post’s business lines
  • Input into security testing and improvement activities to give a view of what activities mitigate credible threats, helping to scope critical tests to ensure their value to the organisation
  • Proactively inform stakeholders in a timely manner about newly identified threats and vulnerabilities
  • Generate briefing material, and written products that convey the results of analysis both verbally and in writing for key stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support the Security Operation Centre (SOC) team members in conducting investigations, by analysing CTI Alerts and Reports on IOCs and TTPs.

 

Knowledge & Experience

 

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years' experience in cyber threat intelligence in an analytical role as an intelligence analyst, or working in information security operations, ideally in a SOC, DFIR, or CSIRT role. You should also have the following experience:

 

  • Working with vulnerability and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exploitation databases (examples: NVD, CVE MITRE and ExploitDB)
  • Broad understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain and similar frameworks
  • Familiarisation with the management, maintenance, and operations of Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP) particularly MISP.
  • Detailed understanding of the Threat Landscape
  • Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • A relevant third level qualification is required.
